Bhubaneswar, Oct 26 (UNI) The Fategarh police on Saturday arrested three youths for allegedly gang-raping a 21-year-old woman in front of her fiancé inside the Pithakhai forest in Odisha’s Nayagarh district last Sunday.

The police stated that all three accused will be presented in court after a medical examination. Although the incident occurred on Sunday, it came to light after the victim filed a complaint with the police on October 25.

According to police, the accused recorded the incident on their mobile phones, shared it on social media, and began blackmailing the victim.

As per reports, the woman and her fiancé were returning from a visit to the Sri Ram temple in Fatehgarh when three youths intercepted them near the Pithakhai forest. They allegedly tied up her fiancé, gang-raped her, recorded the incident, and later shared it on social media.

During interrogation, the three accused reportedly confessed to the crime. A case has been registered, and police will take the accused to the crime scene to recreate the incident for further evidence before presenting them in court.
